relationship problems

so me and my boyfriend have been together for over a year and we’ve been on and off the whole time . at first he was really sweet and then all of the sudden this year he started being mean and controlling and we broke up and then got back together . and then i found out over the summer he almost dated MY BESTFRIEND SENSE BEOFRE KINDERGARTEN and he also asked another girl for nudes . yet i forgave him . and we are on another break and snowball is in less than a month . and i want to get back together with him but i don’t want to get treated like shit again . what do i do ?
