Anyone dealing with a 1 year old biting?

My 1 year old son is biting me and my daughter. I don't think he's doing it to hurt us but he'll pull up on the couch to stand and cruise along it until he gets to me an bite my knees. Or today at the doctor's office he was getting sleepy while we were waiting for the nurse to come back in and he bit my cheek. He bit my daughter's leg today too he started crawling over her seemed happy and just bit her. She cried because it hurt. He left a red mark through jeans. My daughter is 12 she was so mad and really mad. Any advice is appreciated!

My son did this around 9 months. You have to ignore them. You just say no bitting and put them down or don’t give them attention for a few minutes. Even a negative reaction is encouraging for them and they’ll keep doing it. It took a couple weeks of doing that and then he stopped. But every baby is different and have their own personalities. Thanks ladies! My daughter is 12 she never did this. My husband and I do just say no biting, my daughter has a hard time not reacting to it especially if she's the one that got bit. He has left some teeth marks on her so the reaction is due to pain...

Yes yes yes. My son has been doing it since about 8-9 months. He is 11 months now. It seems like something he is doing out of love. Usually only does it when he is cuddling or playing around with us. But he did bite my friends daughter too which scared me. Def hoping it’s just a phase. He is popping out his last front tooth right now too.

My son doesn't bite hard but he did occasionally bite. He started about two months ago, but hed only bite me. No one else. After a week or two he started biting dad too. We'd just pull him back and say no. After about two more weeks he just stopped biting us. Two more teeth popped through during that time so i think that was why he was biting. Ive been told by others that their children bit around this time. I think its just a phase
