Why do people push marriage so hard!?

I’ve been with my boyfriend for about 8-9 months now. We just bought a house together and everything is great. I am really happy, more than I have ever been. But every time I tell people about my relationship and how we bought a house they say “so when’s the wedding? I mean you can’t just plan on playing house without a ring forevaaaaa”. I know he wants to marry me and I’m ready whenever he asks but it frustrates me that people put these expectations on OUR relationship. How can I tell people to mind their business in a nice way cause most of these are family members? 🤦🏾‍♀️

I don’t get why people are so offended by questions. Just say you’ll get married when you’re ready and leave it at that.

When family or people ask us why we arent engaged our married get we just tell them we aren't going to rush marriage. We are happy going at our own pace in life. We have been together for 3 years, well in may it will be 3 years.

That seems like just making polite conversation with the topics being discussed.  You could just say when we're ready and drop it. If they keep pushing just say y'all will when you're ready and you'll let everyone know when that is

We or pregnant in July after a little over 6 months together. Immediately people asked when we would be getting married. I just tell them that we will once we are ready. Having a baby is stressful enough without planning a wedding IMO

Because that what others think need to happen.  It’s not any better after you get married it becomes when you have kids.  You have a kid will when you having your next kids. 
People just think it’s what meant to happen I guess.

A lot of people automatically think marriage when people buy a house. From a practical perspective when a married couple divorces, there is a process for determining what happens with the house. That process is less clear when it’s two unmarried partners owning the house especially if those partners haven’t drawn up an agreement beforehand.

I mean I've been dating my boyfriend for two years. We know we want a life together but want to afford the finest things for when we are ready to take that big step.
You also have to understand that "most" people don't even rent with a SO until they're either a couple years of dating or planning to get engaged/already engaged. So the fact that you bought a house, people assume. Can't blame them. 
It truly isn't their business. You don't have to explain yourself. My boyfriend and I work on the same team together so I get the question all the damn time. I tell them that he's waiting for his other girlfriend to turn him down. It confuses them enough to never ask again 🤷

Wow I wish I got asked that instead of being told to hurry up and get pregnant. Like okay let me get right on that since I turned 30 and moved in with my boyfriend my brother tells me to hurry up and have a baby bc my clock is ticking. Why cant I get asked when its expected we get married? Oh no I get told to get pregnant soon bc of my age. It's so annoying and I'm sure itll happen when it's meant to. Which I actually got pregnant last year when I first got with my boyfriend and had a early miscarriage but my family doesn't know that and I haven't got pregnant since bc my ph is off from the miscarriage ugh. Family is annoying by being so pushy. I usually just laugh it off bc I know I have no control over when I'll get pregnant. I think he may be wanting to propose soon though bc he's kinda been hinting about it. We've been together 7 months now. I say just don't take to heart much and let it in one ear and out the other. Its yalls life so take your time ❤

It’s just a societal norm, and there’s a set way people expect things to be done. It drives me mad. Tell them you guys are working on your relationship your own way at your own pace, and you’re happy!!
