This is the first painting of a series I want to continue that portrays children fighting monsters with age appropriate toys/weapons. It’s a way for me to express what myself and many people have to go through in terms of healing from childhood abuse. We’re teaching our inner child that they’re strong enough to fight back our inner demons that our abusers have left for us to deal with. We don’t have to submit to them. We can heal and be our own hero’s.
