PCOS/ Ectopic pregnancy questions

So I found out about a week and a half ago that I was pregnant. Then Friday I woke up to brown discharge. Nothing alarming that said a miscarriage was coming. Fast forward to me going through 6 days of hell and here we are. A miscarriage. First I was told it was just a miscarriage and then turn are to me being told I'm having a ectopic pregnancy. All of this has been through the ER. I dont see a actual OB till the 14th (happy Valentine's day to me I guess). But can anyone tell me their experiences with this stuff. I have had two healthy babies. So I've never experienced a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy so I have no idea what to think anymore.
