How often do you walk your dog?

Question

I’m talking about walks for exercise purposes, NOT walks for toileting. 
I have a 1.5 year old Great Dane x mastiff and I usually walk her once a day, or take her to the off leash dog park or beach. but now that I’m 37 weeks pregnant I’m finding it really hard to walk her as often and I feel bad 😩
She is getting cabin fever but I am really struggling these days 
I will feel better knowing other people don’t exercise their dogs daily.
P.S my partner always says he will try to walk the dog more but he never actually does

I live in an apartment and take my dog to the lake every day to swim or play fetch, but on rainy days or really cold ones he is an absolute nightmare. So on those days I play little brain games with him and it keeps him a little calm. For instance I hide treats in his toy chest and he has to take all of the toys out to get it, I put peanut butter in one of those kong toys, or I play hide and seek with him where I’ll hide somewhere and then make noises til finds me. Hardly ever but he is a tiny Pomeranian and has an enormous fenced yard all to himself. So he does plenty of walking around on his own daily.

Ive got a husky n i pretty much spend, after each potty run, 20/30 mins with her outside, playing with a stick or her ball or shes just running round in circles or digging 😂 but unlike u i aint 37 weeks pregnant. You shouldnt beat yourself up instead beat the husband!!! 😡 He should help atleast for a while.. Mine is a pain to get to walk the dog so I know the struggle..

Dogs need daily exercise to stay healthy.
If you can’t walk her or play with her outside as much, you may need to find games for her inside. 
A puzzle feeder may help stimulate her brain and entertain her a bit more. Frozen Kong’s are great, too! Sometimes brain games are even better than physical exercise for getting rid of boredom. 
For the puzzle feeders, you can order them on chewy.com or find them in many pet stores. Or you can even put treats in a muffin tin and cover it with tennis balls, and let her figure out how to get to the treats.

I don't see them as separate. I walk my dog both for exercise and for him to pee and poop. Before I had children we were out on walks about four hours a day, but now that I have a almost two years old it's about two hours a day because my son isn't happy being in the stroller for too long. We take 2-3 walks a day, about an hour each. When I was pregnant and couldn't walk him as much and after my son was born I took him on shorter walks, about 15-30 minutes each and had my partner or a neighbour/friend/family member walk him more so he got the exercise. Just running around in a garden doesn't give enough, unless they have someone to play with. I don't even have a dog with a high need for exercise, but I think they live longer and are healthier if they get as much exercise as possible.

I have a high-energy dog, so I try to walk him every day. It doesn’t always happen. When it doesn’t happen, I make sure to have some vigorous play time in the house so he can get some exercise and energy out.

It's been too damn cold out to walk my dog. Plus being pregnant and on medical leave, the days where I'm physically up to walking him are slowly becoming few & far between. But we play games inside all day, and my so plays fetch with him when he goes out for smokes (cause the 5-10 mins outside for that is all he can take right now lol) but usually he gets walked daily. And if it's nicer out, I try to walk him every morning, even just a small walk, before I'm too sore to do anything lol.

I have a small lap dog and he only requires 30 mins of exercise daily so we will play inside because it’s 20 something degrees and full of snow. If I take him out he gets snow dingles. They stick to his fur and I’m stuck blow drying him every time. He hates it. I don’t get to run him around daily, but we try and throw toys and balls around the house for him and that seems to do the trick. I’ve never owned a big dog though. Try not to get down on yourself you’re 37 weeks pregnant. You do what you can and that’s it for now unless your husband can help out more. It’s not permanent. Just temporary.

I am a professional pet sitter & dog walker; I recommend at least 1 walk (30 minutes at a brisk pace) per day. I know that can’t fit into everyone’s schedules, but finding a dog walker has become much easier.
