is a baby bath tub necessary?

I'm torn on whether to get one or not. I have this one from target on my registry but I just hate having clutter in my house, especially as we are limited on space. I dont have a large kitchen or bathroom sink to bathe him in, I was thinking just holding him in the tub or getting in with him until he can sit up on his own. what do you ladies think? now that I typed this, I have a feeling everyone is going to say I need one lol.. I have no problem buying one it's just I dont want to take up a ton of space.
