Zofran ???

So I was prescribed 8mg of Zofran twice a day for morning sickness. It worked so well the first day I took it and I was out and about getting things done, but after that day I found it gave me some relief but not to where I could get out of bed and be productive. I still feel the queasiness and I throw up before bed every night. Has anyone else had this issue? I really thought Zofran would be my savior and I’m actually pretty disappointed.

I was prescribed zofran on Monday to help ease my migraines. They told me to take one every 6 hours with caffeine and try to lay down for about 30 mins if possible. It did not help one bit with headaches but my nausea and morning sickness were gone completely. Maybe try taking it with a coke or something......But I started getting severe cramps that worsened as the day went on. Thursday morning I could hardly walk as my stomach was cramping so bad. I started researching it to see if it was a possible side effect and saw quite a few websites stating that the fda is advising pregnant women NOT to take as it may cause heart murmurs, cleft lips, and cleft palets. There were a few sites showing those effects were not linked to the medication, but far more stating the opposite. I immediately quit taking it until I can see my dr on Monday. The cramps have gone away and my nausea is back. And well my migraines remain 😩. I don’t think a dr would prescribe this with these kind of side effects but I personally don’t want to take that chance. Good luck I hope you find something that helps with your nausea! 💙

Yep zofran didn’t do much for me other than severe constipation. I kept taking it even though I still threw up everyday and I just told myself maybe my sickness would be even worse if I wasn’t taking it? 🤷🏼‍♀️ good luck to you.

I had my 20 week scan on the 6th, and she just prescribed me zofran but 4 mg. Except mine is every 8 hours and she said I have to take them consistently every 8 hours other wise they wouldn't work like they are supposed to. I thought you could just take them when you start to feel sick but I guess not. They are helping me so far. I just hate that I pretty much had to wait til 20 weeks in til I finally start to feel better 😒 I've tried literally every other medication before. But good luck to you.😊

How do you take it? With my zofran it depends on how i take it, if I take it with water like a regular pill the effects aren’t as great and It takes a bit longer but it I let it melt in my mouth and then swallow it, it starts working within 10 minutes to get rid of my nausea
