When to start registry? / Babylist registry

Question

I am only 12 weeks on friday, so still early. But with all of the different types/brands of everything out there, I feel like I should start doing research now. When should I start a registry? 
Also has anyone done a Babylist registry? You can add multiple items from different sites to one website. Pros/cons? Can people buy from the babylist website or must everything be bought on separate places?

I started mine early too so I could form a list of what I wanted. I’m using Babylist and I really like it. I hate being limited to one place because I like them for different things. My favorite thing for them is that it shows prices for every place that supplies that item so the purchaser can do the cheapest price. They buy through Babylist but it goes through the store if that makes sense

I started working on mine a few days after my bfp but keeping it private until I announce.  I’m just doing it on amazon but it’s mostly for myself.

I started early, probably around 12 weeks. I kept it private though while I was adding and removing as I did research. I used amazon, where you can add from other sites too...but it's difficult to do and doesnt appear well on the list so no one bought anything that was from another site.

I’m using babylist! It lists prices for each item at multiple stores, so your guests can choose where to buy from. I’m buying a lot of things used from my neighborhood’s parent buy/sell fb group, so I put those items on there as ‘already purchased’ so people aren’t wondering why I don’t want some essential items lol I think babylist works well!
