Wait to call until…

So the doctor says lab results should be in “this afternoon” and says they’ll give you a call.

You’re anxious for the results and the office closes at 5:00pm. Do you wait until a certain time to call? (Results will not be available online)

***In my real world case, my son was sent to a lab for a blood draw on Thursday and the doctor said he’d get the results the same afternoon. Unfortunately, the lab wasn’t able to get the vein so they asked me to come back Monday. We went to the lab Monday morning (today) and they were finally able to get blood. I don’t think the same doctor is in the office today and I’m thinking I should maybe call so another doctor can review the results and tell me. Or maybe that is just me being an impatient pain in the ass.
