Induction at 39 weeks?

At my appointment today my doctor told me she would induce me at 39 weeks if I would like to be.  Just curious what everyone’s thoughts are on this? I’ve never believed it to be an option so I haven’t done much research on it yet. Thought I’d reach out to you ladies for some personal input.

i was induced at 38 weeks & 39 weeks and labor was a breeze, i had a vaginal delivery both times & im being induced at 39 weeks wednesday i guess it depends on the person but i didnt have any complications 💁🏽‍♀️

Mine said the same thing. I chose to wait until it was medically recommended. Here I am still pregnant at 40w4d and if I go til Thursday I will have to be induced, but I kinda looked at it as I didn’t want to do it early unless there was a reason to. To each their own of course! Just my thought :) good luck!

I was induced at 39 weeks, it was totally fine, no complications, not even a mention of a c section. Would do it again if need be.

I personally wouldn’t consider induction until after my due date

I would 100% have rather gone into labor on my own. My induction was brutal and after 24 hours of labor, ended in an emergency C-section anyway.

I would avoid it. Babies cook for as long as they need to, inducing early is usually asking for trouble from what I’ve seen! One intervention usually leads to another and before you know it you’re having an emergency c-section ☹️

I’ll be 39 weeks tomorrow and my doctor for surely didn’t ask me. Not for my first pregnancy or second. Why is that. I would love to have had an option.  🤔

I heard that it's more painful to be induced but if you're gonna get an epidural you'll be fine but it should still be a long labor.
