For those with babies older than 6 months, how often do you nurse?

I took Amelia to her six month appointment today and they sent home paperwork with guides attached. It said that it's normal to drink breast milk or formula 4 to 6 times a day 6 to 8 oz. I'm thinking my daughter nurses a bit more than 6 times a day when I'm off and she gets 3 four oz bottles at daycare🤦 I think during a normal 24 hours she will drink 7 or 8 times. Should I cut it down?

That paper is full of crap lol. Ours said something similar. Breastmilk and formula are very different when it comes to quantities but all the papers and charts don’t show that. You should never give 6-8oz of breastmilk in a single feeding because it would stretch their stomach. Breastmilk changes and becomes more caloric as baby gets older so it doesn’t need to be gradually increased like formula does. 
My 9.5 month old never takes more than 4oz in a bottle and still usually nurses 8-10 times a day.

That paper sounds like total nonsense! BF however frequently you want, my LO is just over six months and when we’re at home we still nurse on demand, every 2/3 hours. If she’s away from me she has a bottle every 2/3 hours 4-4.5oz each time. Do what’s right for you and baby ignore and papers 🙂

Breast milk adjusts to them as they get older, formula doesn’t, so there isn’t a specific average. As long as your baby is having wet diapers and gaining weight it’s fine :)

My daughter is almost 8 months and she breastfeeds about 6-7 times in 24 hours. We are able to breastfeed on demand because I'm home with her. My son was in daycare when he was little and when he was 6 months he was having 3 bottles of 3-4oz each at daycare. It sounds like you're doing fine. Everyone is right, you don't need to increase the amount of breastmilk in her bottles because the breastmilk changes to meet the needs of the baby as they grow. As my son got older and was eating more solids, he went down to 2 bottles at daycare, but still no more than 4oz per bottle.

My Baby girl is 1 year old and she nurses A LOT 😁 I'm always breastfeeding her, through out the day. Her Pediatric 👩🏻‍⚕️ suggested for me to stop nursing at night due to my daughter being overweight but my daughter loves breastfeeding and I just couldn't stop breastfeeding her at night. I'm always breastfeeding lol 😂
