Baby extra clingy and fussy

My daughter is 5 1/2 months old and for the last week or so she has been so fussy and extra clingy. Even sitting next to her while she plays isn't enough, I need to hold her 24/7 it seems. Also wanting to comfort nurse a lot. She used to be my champion napper and even getting her down for those lately is such a struggle. Not trying to complain here, I'm sure she's going through something and it's my job as mom to help her through. Guess I'm just wondering if this is because of some mental leap she's going through and how long do they usually last? And any tips getting through this would be wonderful. Thanks in advance mamas ❤️
