How many to transfer?

This is my second transfer and I’m so scared of it not working. I just want a baby. I’m ok with the idea of twins but my doctor says we are young and healthy no reason to put two in... i just want to get pregnant!

It’s such a hard decision when you are young and have plenty of frozen embryos. I was 34 when we did our egg retrieval and we only ended up with two fertilized embryos that had to be transferred on day 3 so our decision to transfer both was very easy. Here I am almost 20 weeks pregnant with twin girls. If I were in your situation I would be more apt to transfer one since I have read that success rates are actually higher with one. And as exciting as being pregnant with twins is, it definitely has much more risk involved. I see my normal OB as well as a maternal fetal medicine doctor. It can be very scary sometimes. I recently transfer 2 embryos, also my second transfer. I transferred one the 1st time and it ended in miscarriage. I know that statistics, I know the risks, but I just felt in my gut that this is the way to go. I’m only 7 days past transfer and am getting positives at home, but we’ll see if this is a viable pregnancy. Do your research, talk to your spouse, and then go with your gut!

My doctor only transfers one at a time. He said it was like 6% higher chance of pregnancy but much higher risk of twins when transfering 2

I think despite what I've read the grades of the embryos definitely matters when deciding this. Also if you PGS tested them.

That is tough!!! If you don’t mind me asking how many embryos do you have frozen? I am not sure what I would want to do. My doctor will only transfer 1. What does your partner think?
