TTC and Ovulation TMI help!

Hey friends! So, I have a random question and I hope I’m putting it in the right forum. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A LITTLE DESCRIPTIVE AND TMI. But I appreciate any help you can provide!

My husband and I had sex last night. Took a “rinse off” shower afterwards and went to sleep.

I woke up this morning and before jumping in the shower, used the bathroom. There was so much cervical mucus! More than I’ve ever had before. It was like raw egg whites, slippery and very mucous-y. Not thin and watery at all.

Before you ask, I have all but given up on tracking my ovulation cycle. My menstrual cycle comes VERY randomly so it’s incredibly hard to track my ovulation. What I’m asking is: is that mucous-y discharge a good sign of ovulation or discharge from the night before? I’m so confused because I know that kind of discharge is USUALLY due to ovulation but we did just have sex the night before.

I’m not usually so descriptive and it’s kind of embarrassing but I appreciate ANY help! My husband and I have been TTC for almost 5 months now and it’s frustrating to not know when you ovulate.
