Fetal monitoring?

I’m 31 weeks and having contractions have been since 28 weeks they’ve started to get pretty strong this is my second baby I had to stay overnight in labor and delivery Sunday and they gave me a shot to stop contractions because I was dilated to a 1 they put me on bed rest and my midwife wants to see me tomorrow for fetal monitoring has anyone ever had to do this I would like to know what I should expect tia

Update: well I was there forever almost 4 hours but thankfully my contractions have stopped and I reverse dilated ? Didn’t know that was a thing lol but they did an ffn I should get results back tomorrow crossing my fingers hoping it’s negative.
