I had other things that lead to my failed vbac but I will say that there are vbac calculators online if you google it. There are questions it asks and then it will give you the percentage of how likely you are to succeed at a vbac. Good luck!

I had a successful VBAC in June and it was awesome. I got to reach down and feel her head when she was crowning, got to do delayed cord clamping, and immediate skin to skin and breastfeeding. It was everything I wanted with my first, but didn't get. I only he'd to push like 5-6 times and she was out. The recovery was a breeze, which was good because I had a 2 year old at home to take care of. It was night and day compared to recovery after my c-section. Your doctor will be able to help you decide if you are a good candidate or not. It depends on things like the reason for your first c-section, how long between pregnancies (my doctor said at least a year), etc. With my first, I dilated to 10, so they knew my body could do it. Do some research and make sure you are comfortable with whatever decision you make. Repeat c-sections have their risks, too. I was worried that I might go through labor and still end up with an emergency c-section again, but I read somewhere that there are hormones released during labor that are beneficial to mom and baby, so even if you end up with a c-section, it was worth going through labor. I knew I wanted to try for a VBAC as soon as I had my c-section with my first. If I hadn't at least tried and had just scheduled a c-section, I always would have wondered if I could have done it.

VBAC was a success last csection was 2016 but it was with my stillbirth in 2018 May this pregnancy we opted for csection 24 weeks +4 days

I had a csection with my twins 6 years ago. We are scheduling a csection for this baby for one day after the due date but we are hoping i go into labor before that, and if I do then we are hopeful for a VBAC. There was nothing preventing me from a natural birth with my twins aside from a bad OB, and my new doctor believes I’m a good candidate for a natural birth now, so we will see!🤞

So...my VBAC failed; I got to 5cm after 24 hrs & then failed to progress. However; I had an amazing team of Dr's & even though I couldn't have a "natural" birth, I was so happy I got to at least try. I felt like this time, I was in control of my birth. I was well informed & able to make the call (when I failed to progress, I discussed with the Dr & decided to get the C before it was an emergency & before I & baby were too tired) & that made all the difference. If it's important to you to try, then go for it! If you're more of a planner though, there are upsides to the planned C bc you don't have to play the waiting game of when are you going to go into labor & you can preschedule supervision for your oldest. Either way, good luck!
