Swing recommendations??

I'm a first time mom and I'm wondering if it's worth it to buy a swing or bouncer?? And if so favorite brands

We have the Graco swing and the Fisher Price Auto Rock and Play. They are great! My opinion, def get either one! Before we bought these we were stuck swinging our newborn in a carseat to get him to calm down some nights and it killed my husband’s back.

Snugapuppy swing is great. Used tit twice now. I had the attachment for the Tripp trapp high chair which didn’t bounce but it was great to keep the toddler away from the baby.

Nope! Both are on my list of unnecessary baby items. We never bought a swing, rock n play, bouncer, etc. for our daughter. They just start really bad sleep habits and I wanted to avoid that at all costs.

I had both a swing and a bouncer and loved both. The bouncer was great when I wanted to keep an eye on my son while I was taking a shower. It was soothing for him and I could move it around in the bathroom so he could easily see me. The swing was a lifesaver during dinner time because it kept him happy and quiet long enough for my husband and I to have an enjoyable dinner together. My son also liked to nap in his swing. He went from 30 minute cat naps to napping for 3-5 hours in his swing. I think it actually taught him how to take longer naps so it was easier to transition him into the crib for longer naps. I didn’t start using the swing until my son was almost 8 weeks and already sleeping in his crib at night so it didn’t affect our nighttime sleep training. Before 8 weeks I used the Boppy Lounger during the day and he was perfectly happy being still and hanging out with me on the couch.

I wouldn't get anything too expensive. Babies aren't supposed to spend a lot of time in swings or bouncers as it can lead to flat spots on their head. Bouncers are good as they are way more portable.

We had both.  We had a 2 in 1  Graco swing (that we relied on) and bouncer combo. We noticed my son didn’t like the bouncer part of the expensive swing.  A relative of ours realized he liked a cheaper bouncer she tried with him, It had a slight vibration option and it helped to calm him.  Safe to say we ended up getting one of those too and just using the swing as a swing!

I got the mamaroo swing and she loves it it’s perfect for naps, but it’s bulky you can’t be moving it around. I bought a few cheap bouncers and she’s happy in those and it’s nice to have a safe place to put them down so you can shower or make a meal and the baby can see you.

Personally, I’d ask if a friend or family member has one you could borrow or buy at a low cost. My daughter sat in her swing maybe 4 times, she screamed every time I put her in it. Some babies love them and some hate them. With that said I looked at a lot of consumer reviews to determine which one to get.
