Long distance relationship

What if your long distance boyfriend told you that he needs 5 years to decide if you all need to be together? I feel like I’m just picking but I don’t know how it makes me feel. I feel like I’m an option that he may pursue or not. He is a good guy and tries but I think I am making him miserable. All of these thoughts are my own and have nothing to do with him but I can’t stop thinking them. I really help. I wanna separate my self from this relationship. I don’t wanna want him anymore because I feel stupid.
