Nipple size for bottles?

So we were handed down 12 dr brown bottles. I’m not sure what size the nipples are on the ones we were given but I want to buy all new ones for our baby either way. Should I buy the preemie or the size 1 nipples ?? 
I plan to nurse initially but I will have to pump since I’m going back to work after 12 weeks so he will be given bottles of expressed milk as well.

Also, look really closely on the nipple, it should have a big number on it to indicate size. Hopefully that helps with your hand me down bottles!

I will probably start on size 1 nipples with our dr browns bottles but we also bought size 2 for down the road!

Start with a pack of the lowest size.  It simply means the size of the hole. The smallest allows the slowest flow. As your baby learns to handle more you can buy bigger sizes if you need.

I have the dr brown bottles too and we just used the first stage nipples. Not sure if they said one or not. 0-3 months or something I believe. We got them from wal mart because the brand is so dang expensive
