Am I in labor?

On Monday I had a cervix check and I am 4cm and 80% effaced. Since that check I’ve had an increase in discharge and horrible back pain and pressure downstairs. My doctor said she would be surprised if I make it another week. I have been having irregular contractions for the past 24 hours now. Would it be a waist of time to go into labor and delivery to get checked out or should I just wait it out at home until something happens? She said she would admit me if I made it to 6cm without contractions
