Have you started solids yet?

Question

My sons pediatrician told us today at his 4 month appointment that we could start solids whenever we’d like now. I was just wondering if anyone else started yet.

We had our 4 month appointment today. Our doc said it was ok to start solids. I’m super paranoid about food allergies, and I’ve heard early introduction is best for that, so we immediately started today. Adelaide was excited about it.

We do oatmeal right now and will start vegetable purees next week when she is 5 months. She definitely has an interest in our food.

I waited to start solids until 5 months. He wasn’t showing any interest prior to then.

While you can current research says it’s best to wait until they are 6months old. They are able to link early intro to foods with gastric issues in life as baby gets older

My baby was showing LOADS of interest in food at 3 months old, we stretched her till 3.5 months and then started giving her tastes of things. 
A bit of baby rice, a piece of the baby biscuits that melts, then we started letting her have tastes of baby food; fruits and/or veggies. Literally just a couple of spoonfuls because we were worried about over loading her tummy. She was so much happier for it! 
By 4 months she was eating 120g of homemade potato with vegetable. 
Then she got a cold and refused anything other than milk. She’s still a bit snotty but is starting to show interest again. 
Personally I’d say let your baby lead, I haven’t offered any food during the week so I’m going to offer again this weekend and see what she makes of it.

My girl is starting to show lots of interest but she isn't quite ready yet so she probably won't be started for another month to month and a half which puts her at 5 1/2 to 6 months.

I waited until he showed interest in food and could sit in a high chair. That’s what our doc recommended too. That was around 18 weeks I believe. She said she preferred we did fruits and veggies instead of the grains since there’s more nutrition in them. He loves everything he’s tried but not really fond of peaches. We did one food for 3 days and then tried another to ensure no reactions through skin or poop.
