Pay in home sitter?

Looking to get an in home sitter for my 2.5 yo (half way potty trained) and my 5 mo. 6-7 hours a day. $15-$16 an hour. My question is, Do I pay for each child the sitter will be watching? (Double the pay?) I’m so clueless. I’ve only grown up with older siblings watching kids in the family for little to nothing lol. Please advise me.

I watched two children (same age, oldest with autism) for the same rate. $15 total per hour. They’d pay me extra if I helped out with household chores which I usually would if I was there during nap time. That was more of a bonus and they paid depending on what/how much I had done 🙂

When I nannied, I had a base rate and then increased a few dollars per child.  Ie.  $15/hr for one and and another $3/hr/child.

As a nanny I would prolly charge $15 an hour for the two of them. Plus any gas or anything if I’d need to take them anywhere in my vehicle. And entry fees if we go to museums or fun things :)

I am a nanny and personally for your situation I would ask for $20 an hour minimum. My base would be $15 and an extra $5 for the second bc they are under a year old. I think that is the lowest I would do it for but everyone is different and your area and experience of the caregiver will determine your rate. I’m in an area that has a lot of money and I have a lot of experience and great references so I charge more than average but there are also people with even more experience who charge even more. I would go on care.com and see what other families are paying in your area and go from there.

We have a nanny. She gets one rate for one kid and $2.00 more an hour for both. She’ll get an additional $2.00 more an hour once this baby comes.

I know care.com has a babysitter calculator. you can plop in where you live how many kids and hours. it can help you figure out a good base. 
but that sounds pretty good total for two children. my current nanny job I watch two children for 20 hours and get a certain amount, we agreed after that I would get over time and worked together to come up with what we thought was fair.

I have twins and my sister in law has one, last year when we lived together we had three under 1 and payed 20 an hour!
