Methotrexate and miscarriage
This may be long and hopefully I explain things okay. Lol. Back in July 2018 I had an ectopic pregnancy. August 4, 2018 I received my first methotrexate shot, but my HCG was still rising so I was given another one August 10. It was October 4, 2018 before my HCG levels dropped to 0. Fast forward to January 15, 2019, I took a pregnancy test and it had a very, very faint line. I was 9 dpo and the line was darker at 6:30pm than it was with my FMU. The next morning it was lighter so I knew it was probably a chemical pregnancy. February 15, 2019 I got my BFP on a first response digital. Same as with Clearblue Digital on Saturday and Monday. I went to the doctor on February 19, 2019, just 1 day after getting a positive Clearblue Digital. They took blood because of my previous ectopic. (I didn’t go to the same doctor the treated me the ectopic pregnancy). Anyway. My HCG was 5. So I knew I was going to be bleeding soon, which I did that night.
So now to my question. Could the methotrexate still be messing with my body? When my HCG got to 0, the doctor told me to wait 4 months before trying again because it took so long for all the HCG to leave my body. I’m kind of impatient. I know methotrexate depletes the body of folic acid, so could that be what’s caused my miscarriage this cycle? I’ve only had 1 miscarriage before and it was 13 years ago. I’ve had two kids since and they’re 10 years apart lol.
