Sleeping too much?

My 5 day old only wakes when I wake him to eat. Is this normal? I also have to keep juggling and tickling him to stay awake to eat.

We had to change our boy’s diaper and strip him down out of his pj’s in the beginning m! He’s going on four weeks now and he still doesn’t wake up and cry for feedings, but he does stay awake for them now.

🙋🏻‍♀️ same with my baby. Its hard getting him to feed for longer than about 15 mins as he keeps falling asleep but he does plenty of wet nappies so I assume he’s getting enough liquid.

I don’t wake my baby to eat coz for me and from past experiences with my older kids baby wakes when they are hungry they automatically knows to wake that’s when I get up to feed them and my kids were always normal weight at the age they are

It’s normal. You should continue waking to feed until baby ya back up to birthweight and you get the all clear from your pediatrician. My girl is just starting to be awake more at 2 1/2 weeks.
