Periods after 30

Hey y’all. I turned 30 a few months ago but noticed that my periods have gotten way worse. Definitely more painful and more severe PMS, though my blood flow has been pretty consistent.

I told a friend how I was thinking of going to a doctor and getting checked out and she mentioned hers got way worse as she got closer to 30 too. Just now I mentioned it to another 30 year old friend who said her period is also weird right now.

Is this a thing? I still plan on getting checked out but wondering if some sort of change is expected as you get closer to 30.
