Help with prayer?

For some reason i feel like i don’t know how to pray anymore..? It’s like when i do i just say the same thing & it isn’t from the heart more like a script i memorized in my head.. i want to feel closer to God too. Ever since moving in with my boyfriend i haven’t been praying every night & just don’t feel like myself. How can i get back to God? Also when i do pray i feel the need to keep praying over and over again until it’s RIGHT.. i need advice on that tooo

Living together isn’t inherently sin, but that doesn’t make it good. It definitely doesn’t glorify Him, and if sex is added to the mix, that is sin which always separate us from God. James 4:8 says, “Draw close to God and God will draw close to you.” It’s a promise, but in drawing close to God we always must grow in our purity, or else we don’t get anywhere with Him. He always loves us the same, but closeness will always suffer when living with sin. This is harsh and from a stranger, but I’d suggest moving out of your boyfriend’s if you want to make things right.

I struggle with this too. I often feel like my prayer has to be perfectly orchestrated or it’s not good enough. But I need to remind myself that it is. Prayer or worship or time with god doesn’t have to consist of a perfectly thought out spiel. If anything, I’m sure God enjoys it more when you just say what’s on your heart and he doesn’t care if you muck up or you think you say something different, because the Lord already knows our heart and what’s on it. The important bit of prayer is spending time with God. For me, to combat this, I like to keep a prayer journal. I will put on worship music and I will just write in my journal. I write down all Im thankful for, all I need to pray for and even write down a vent if I’m needing one. The Lord always has a listening ear. Also, when I write it down i feel like I’m just having a conversation with Jesus, it’s not pray then done, it’s thinking of what to write and say and taking the time to listen closely for the voice of the Holy Spirit. the other benefit of keeping a journal is that you can go back and read and see the prayers that have been answered, and give praise and thanks when you have these opportunities. Don’t feel discouraged, I’m trying to get closer too and your post made me pick up my journal to spend some long overdue time with Jesus, so thank you 💜
