chlamydia concern

This guy i was dating gave me chlamydia and i got it treated right away. My dr said after a single Azithromycin dose of 1000mg that it clears up and theres no need to retest. Has this happened to you all? that after taking the antibiotic you are clear or should I make sure and get tested again to see it come out negative.

I have not had sex with anyone since finding out the test results. i guess im worried that it didn’t fully go away :(
