TIPS FOR BUDGETING FOR BABY!?

Does anyone have any tips for budgeting for a baby? I am expecting in November and would love to hear any tips as this is my first! Anything helps!!!

1) save a set amount every week. For us as soon as we found out we were pregnant we dropped everything not essential from our bills (got a smaller cellphone plan, got rid of cable tv and just used Netflix, stopped going out to eat as much) and we took that extra $250 and put it directly into savings every month. It doesn’t seem like much, but cutting those things and knowing we could put AT LEAST that much in each month was a huge blessing. 
2) don’t buy much until after your baby shower. Sounds moderately selfish but we waited. We put what we needed down and honestly our friends and family were so generous and bought most everything we needed. If I had started shopping too soon I would have spent money we could have saved. 
3) remember that baby’s don’t care if it’s name brand, brand new, and they don’t need that much. Instead of spending $50 on a pair of Jordan baby shoes or something, save some money and buy cute cheap ones from Target for $10 instead. Check neighborhood Facebook sales pages and see if you can find good swings, cribs, etc for sale! We got a crib for $20 that was in amazing condition and just washed it down and it saved us over $200! And don’t worry about buying a million things for baby right now. They don’t need 25 outfits for every age. They don’t need 15 different blankets. They don’t need 10 rattles. Just get the essentials first :)

Set up an automatic withdrawal in to a savings account. Whatever you can afford, but its automatic so you don't "notice", and eventually, you will build up a little nest-egg to help with costs.
