Have to wait till baby shower?

Question

Did you buy stuff before your baby shower? Everyone says I need to wait till after my baby shower to buy stuff because  I'm going to get a lot of stuff at it. Which I know is true.. but I can't help buying cute clothes and stuff I see.. did you wait till after or did you buy small stuff before?

I started buying stuff at like 10/11 weeks 😭😭 I think you rather have to much than not enough.

I feel lik you can never have too much stuff. My baby shower isn’t until May and I have already been getting little things here and there. Cribs were on sale so I got it for cheap about a month ago. So I don’t think getting stuff will hurt

I bought quite a bit of things! I'm one of those people who cant stand not being prepared.  So I bought all the necessities and I put the non necessities on my baby shower list.

This is my 4th. I learned after my first to not buy much or anything until after my shower. My first shower I received so much stuff, everything from clothes up to 24month, bottles, diaper bag, blankets, even got my stroller/car seat and a pack n play. 
My second was 3yrs later and I received a lot less stuff and a lot less people showed up. I got mostly clothes and one small stroller that could be used after he could sit. I ended up buying pretty much everything for him. 
My third was 10yrs later and I got tons of blanket and clothes. My grandma bought me the stroller/car seat. I ended up buying mostly bottles, baby shampoo and other things similar. 
If I see something I just can’t say no to, then I buy it 😊. But I try not too go overboard

I’m getting what I need/want ahead of time and people can fill in with other fun stuff.  No one buys off registries anyway and there are certain things and colors that I want this time.  I hated most of the stuff I got with my first (15 years ago) because very sweet, generous, and well meaning family members found cheaper versions of what I had registered for.  
I am not complaining about their gifts, I just refuse to stare at ugly prints for the next couple of years this time.  I’m more financially settled now than I was then though so I’m getting all the big items and things I want right off.

I’ve been buying stuff here and there. We have our crib, some clothes, a few swaddles I found for cheap, a couple bibs, but nothing too much. I don’t see anything bad with getting a few things, but I would wait for most stuff unless your shower is real close to your due date
