TMI: genital herpes :(

My partner was already living with genital herpes when we started dating. As a result, we waited 3 months to be sexually active to be sure of our decisions and acknowledge the risks involved, research, etc. we use condoms as protection, but it’s now almost 6 months later and I’m positive that I have it. My first break out was about a month ago & I think it was triggered by becoming sick with the flu. I’m now experiencing my second breakout, and again I’m under the weather, and It hurts so bad, I have to cover the sores with toilet paper when I go to the bathroom because it will burn like hell, I won’t wear tight fitting clothes, and I usually wear a pad as a cushion between my actual under wear/pants. I need help on how to cope, what I can do to reduce pain, and how to tell him I have it. I know he will feel horrible about it, but I knew the risks going in and I just need help.
