Dental tooth extraction

Hello! The past few weeks I’ve had major tooth pain on and off. I got 3 different opinions from different dentists and I believe I will hire a holistic dentist as I have an autoimmune condition. Since I don’t believe in root canals (I know this is a controversial thing, I just want to stay on the safe side) the holistic dentist is advising me to remove the tooth because it is my top right tooth... second to last tooth so it’s all the way in the back... I need some other work done like fillings etc but I am absolutely terrified of the extraction because he will need to take out the nerve and all with the tooth 😩😩😩 Has anyone done this before?? How long does it take? What was the experience like? Is it as painful as it sounds?
