Complications after birth

I had my daughter by C-section and tubes tied on the 14th, exactly a week later I started bleeding heavy soaking a pad every 30 min. I went to the hospital and continued hemorrhaging losing so much blood they had to do a transfusion and give me 4 units of blood. They tried to give me a DNC thinking maybe there was a piece of placenta embedded in my uterus but it didn't work so I had an emergency hysterectomy. I nearly lost my life and am waiting for results from the lab testing my uterus...has anyone had any experience with this or heard of it happening? I just got out of the hospital last night.
