Have you ever been cat-called?

I just watched a buzzfeed video where 3 women shared their stories. Some of them were really freaky. At 17 I havent experienced it but Im curious to seen how much it has happened to others.

Yeah it's happened, especially when I'm walking at night. I walk for fitness so I'm usually dressed in workout pants and a sports bra with tank top over it. But one time in NY I was just walking to Dunkin donuts and this dude actually stopped his car in the middle of the street to holler at me.... Like WTF?

Once somebody followed me for a block before coming up and asking for my name and where I was going. I’ve been whistled at a bunch. People stare at me creepily. I’m used to it by now.

Yes all the time, if I walking on a street at night (non even late) there are always some men screaming stuff at me. So annoying

i mean, yeah i have but i always laugh it off. it’s never been offensive. it’s always just like “hey girl how you doin” but it’s nothing i worry about. it’s funny to me, because i can sense when a guy is just having fun and messing around and when a guy wants to cause harm, and it’s never gotten to that point. i suggest you don’t make a big deal out of it unless it really bothers you.

First time for me was when I was 10. I was in a different country and I looked older than I was because I was considered tall. That was just the beginning, I get cat called all the time and it honestly sucks.

Sure, but where I’m from it’s kinda normal at my school. It may be degrading to some people. But not to me. 
I frankly do not care about cat-calling.(unless they act on it)

The first time I was catcalled I was probably 12 or 13. Since then it’s just the random whistles, cat calls or car honking while walking. Other than that I’ve had a couple of more freakish encounters, like guys staring at me in a very intimidating way or even following me for a couple of blocks. Also I work in construction (I’m a civil engineer) and on the first ever job I had on site, for some time EVERY fucking day some fucking asshole would whistle at me when I used to walk into the site, AT MY FUCKING JOB!!! It’s fucking terrible that we have to live with this in our everyday lives!!!

A bunch of time from star or 13-18 a lot of the times where guys driving by and would stop. be like her girl you sexy, come here, I’ll give you a ride then I would be like I’m underage then they would drive off. It always worked. 
One time I was walking home and this guy started following me (maybe 30’s) screaming your so beautiful let’s marry. Hey goddess let’s make baby’s. You marry me,be my wife. I think he might have just learned English.I ran away and called a friend to come meet me while I was walking. He stopped following me

i’ve has various little instances since i was 13, nothing major just uncomfortable but the biggest one was when i was 15 and some guy took a picture of me and started calling me sexy and everything else
