What is wrong??

My baby turned 1 month old yesterday. He's normally pretty chill while nursing. Just would lay there. Past couple days though he's been very squirmy. He'll nuzzle and mouth at the nipple, make little moaning noises, wiggle, need my breast with his hands like a cat, punch, sometimes rip off his latch and scream, act lost likd he can't find the nipple that he just pulled off from....
What could be wrong? He gets gassy but never acted like this. Anyone else experience this?

My daughter is nine weeks by started that a week or two ago. I have been looking around, and it seems like it could be a few things... First, it could definitely be gas. When she starts doing that I pulled her off and burp her, and I guess that kind of helps sometimes. I also think they are just so much more aware now even at 4 weeks that they get bored and want to look around. I started introducing one bottle a day at one month, and I also think that she gets kind of annoyed at my boob and the milk flow for not being as fast and consistent as a bottle. So if you are doing breastfeeding and Bottles, maybe that is issued to. At the very least it's not anything serious, just super annoying for us!

It happened with my daughter (she’s 3 months now) just be patient and work with him. Y’all can get through this it will just take some work. Try not to get discouraged. Try hand expressions as he’s latching and feeding. The milk will come to him easier.

Believe it or not they actually forget how to nurse. Yes it sounds weird but they do. You basically have to teach him to nurse again

Sounds like overactive let down to me, try hand expressing a little before nursing, this should help with gas also as with overactive let down they get to much foremilk and it causes stomach upset

My little guy does this sometimes and I’ve found it seems to help if I stop and burp him. He often has a burp pretty quickly if he’s acting this way. The other thing I’ve found that helps is really simple actually. While he’s nursing I’m generally supporting him with one arm but the other hand is free. If I just take the free hand and hold his little hand (the one on top which he uses to knead or beat on my breast) so that my thumb puts just a gentle pressure on the palm of his hand it really seems to call him down. I think there must be a pressure point in there or something. I don’t hold him so firmly that I restrict his movement but it really helps him calm down and focus on nursing again!
