Being a mom

I'm just a little frustrated this morning, and need some advice. My son is 3 weeks old. I woke up this morning to find him gone. Apparently he left with my mother in law to go with her to work. I have to say apparently, because I wasnt even asked or told that he was leaving. I got a little upset because it would have been nice to hear "hey I'm taking the baby to my moms" or "is it okay if he leaves for awhile" idk. Am I overreacting?
