When did you announce on social media?

Today will be my third ultrasound, I’m 8 weeks exactly. Everything has looked good with little one, and I’m a believer in celebrating my love for my little one as long as I am able. I don’t feel like hiding joy is good for my mental health. In then event the worst occurs, I feel as though I would have a support system. I wouldn’t want to suffer in silence. I’m just looking for the thoughts of other mamas. This is baby number two for me.

We told those important to us at 12 weeks. Social media we didn't post about it until around 28 weeks, by that point anyone who we love and were close to already knew anyway.

We announced to our immediate family and close friends around week 7.  I plan on announcing on social media after my ultrasound and blood tests come back around week 11 or 12.

There is no right or wrong answer here. If you want to announce then do it! Everyone has a personal preference, some people are more private while others are an open book. When I experienced my mmc at 8 weeks I'm the type of person who doesn't want to talk about it, I grieve in my own way and usually on my own. So with my first full term baby we didnt tell family and friends until 12 weeks and then we waited to announce on social media until closer to 20 weeks. With this one we saw a very healthy heartbeat at 9 weeks, will announce to my parents at like 9+4 announce to my close friends the following week and then wait until we know the gender to announce on social media (which will be around 15/16 weeks). Just do what feels right to you.

We didn’t announce on social media until 12 weeks, however we told our friends and family around 8.
That being said, it would have been a lot easier if we announced at 8 weeks on social media as well, it was a stressful month trying to hide it. We saw the heartbeat and I’d probably tell people at 8 if I could redo it.
