Where did everyone start for potty training and when did you know he/she was ready? If you have yet?

My son knows what the potty is..his potty is in the bathroom so whenever I have to go he comes and he says potty and sits on his potty. He can’t pull down his pants all the way yet, but pulls them down halfway.

We where Intrusted to wait till they could 
pull pants up and down
Tell you they needed to go
Hid when they went in their diaper
And showed they where very uncomfortable in their diaper soild.
So I am in no rush personally. 🤷‍♀️

I got the three day potty training book. Worked amazing. It even has tips on how to get them a little bit more Ready 2 weeks before you start training

TLDR: your child is ready for the potty whenever you decide to potty train them. 
There are people who suggest the “readiness” for potty training information out there is not much more than a concerted tactic by disposable diaper companies to get you to keep your kid in diapers longer, and buy more diapers. Personally, I think that makes sense, but then so do a lot of conspiracy theories 😂

Anyway, my daughter didn’t necessarily show any signs of readiness, but we were ready. I read that basically we “train” our children to go in diapers, and we can train them to go somewhere else. My 18 month old is clearly completely physically capable of holding her pee/poop and releasing it when it’s appropriate. We took two trips out today for about 1.5 hours each and she peed on command before going out and then peed when we came home and had no accidents. She’s also not very verbal at all (though she did learn the word “poopy” during our potty training) and has never indicated to me when she was peeing in her diapers. She didn’t show any interest in getting out of diapers. She wasn’t interested in the potty. She can’t pull her pants up (she can do down but it’s a whole complicated thing), so I of course go with her and do all that for her. It’s not all that much easier than diapers to be honest, but I firmly believe two things that made me want to do this early:
1. Peeing and pooping in a diaper is a learned process that becomes a habit - and habits are harder to break the longer you do them (so in my opinion a 2.5 year old might have more attachment to diapers than an 18 month old) 
2. Having pee and poop close to your body is uncomfortable, and I don’t want my child to be uncomfortable any longer than she absolutely has to be
I don’t know if potty training would have worked earlier, but at 18 months it worked perfectly for us. It’s a learning process, she still has an accident here and there, but that’s the same for older children potty training too.
