Best birth method for first time mums?

Depends on what you want! 
I personally chose a birth center because I wanted to have a natural water birth. I ended up having to be induced because of pre-eclampsia but stuck to my wishes of no epidural until hour 75. I got one in the operating room (had to have a C-section). Baby was in distress so my birth plan went out the window as her safety came first. I had complications afterwards and would not have survived the 10 minute transfer to a hospital. So, I do think it’s good to choose a place that is fully equipped to deal with unexpected medical emergencies, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it has to be a hospital.

Everyone's different. I loved (well as much as one can in this situation) having a natural birth at the hospital with my midwife.

Those are three kind of extreme options. There’s nothing wrong with natural births, with or without pain intervention, and there’s nothing wrong with C-sections for medical reasons. It is easier to heal from natural births, regardless of medication levels. I had an epidural with my first, and I never plan on having an unmedicated birth if I can avoid it 🤷‍♀️ There’s nothing wrong with water births, home births, birthing centers, a hospital setting, etc. It should be what you think is best for you, as long as baby gets here safely, it doesn’t matter.

My baby had shoulder dystocia. I would never feel comfortable anywhere but the hospital because of that
