2yr old with a fever

So he started to feel sick this morning. I took him to his pediatrician and she said to alternate between Tylenol and ibuprofen(she gave me directions on how to do it).

I just checked his temp and it's 102.8. I called our er to ask when I should bring him in and they told me if I was concerned to just bring him in.

What's a dangerous level for a 2yr olds fever to be? Its been down all day and this is thw highest its been.

TIA

**he does have the flu and yes I know it is viral. I'm just looking to get his temp down.

I brought my daughter to the er at 101.2. She apparently has the flu and they put her on meds for it

Tamiflu shortens the flu. It doesnt help it go away per say. I was told to keep my son hydrated and make sure his fever stays down

I would say to take him In if the fever doesn’t go down at least a bit within an hour. 103 is pretty high. They could make sure he doesn’t have an infection and give him fluids. However if it’s a virus like the flu medication won’t work and they’ll likely just give him Tylenol and Motrin as well to keep his fever down,

He does have the flu so it is viral. They'd just give him the same thing as I have been doing all day.
