Anybody else have preeclampsia?

I just found out I have preeclampsia today and I’m freaking out. I’m 35 weeks at the moment. This is my first pregnancy. I don’t know what to do and I’m so worried about me and my sons health, does anyone have a story about having preeclampsia? Or what to expect the rest of my pregnancy? Thank you so much

Your doctor would be a great source of information on this topic and should have prepared your with at least a bit of what’s to come with pre eclampsia. (I don’t mean the first part of come off as rude.)
Pre eclampsia is a serious condition that you should be very concerned about and watching closely. It effects your body and baby’s body. Your bp could spike putting you and baby at risk for serious complications. It can effect your kidneys, liver and other vital organs causing your body to shut down. 
It’s likely that your doctor will monitor you very closely over the next 5 weeks and probably suggest an early delivery and a c-section to ensure the quick and safe arrival of your baby before 40 weeks. Watch for swelling, dizziness, blurred vision, high blood pressure, and headaches - these are all signs your body isn’t tolerating the condition.

I had Pre eclampsia at the end of my first pregnancy. I took my blood pressure everyday and watched for headaches and swelling. I was induced at 39 weeks and it was the best induction I could have hoped for. I had a vaginal birth and epidural. Don’t stress too much and try to cut out salt and drinks lots of water. You may have to do NST to check on you and baby the remainder of your pregnancy. I haven’t been diagnosed with Pre e this time but will be starting nst two times a week to monitor anyway. Hope this helps!

I was induced three weeks ago at 34 weeks for severe preeclampsia. My bp wouldn’t go below 170/100 and I had a large amount of protein in my urine. Also, my bloodwork showed that my kidneys were struggling. My induction went smoothly, but I had to be on magnesium sulfate to prevent seizures. That medication made me very crummy feeling and extremely lethargic and tired during labor. My son was in the NICU until this past Tuesday. He is doing great now! From my understanding, there are three types of preeclampsia: mild, moderate and severe. For mild and moderate, most doctors wait to induce until 37 weeks or later. For severe preeclampsia, they will induce any time after 32 weeks. For true eclampsia or HELLP syndrome, they will induce immediately because the mother’s life is severely at risk.
