What kind of symptoms did you have before you found out you had it?

My mother has it, I luckily don’t, but she struggled for years to have me and tried for another but couldn’t, I was an IVF baby
All you ladies out there that struggle with fertility, I wish you all the babies you want

Been fighting it for 7 years now, since I was 14.

I was diagnosed last month. After being on the pill for 3.5 years and various other contraception before, I thought I needed a break. Stopped in August 2018 and I had NOTHING! No periods whatsoever. I don’t have any other symptoms, just post pill amenorrhea. Doctor ran bloods in December which were all ok. Hormones were normal and all indicated mid cycle so nothing suspicious or concerning. I saw my GP about a month later as still no period and they booked an ultrasound that came back with polycystic ovaries. (Whilst waiting for the ultrasound appt I actually had a period but at this stage I think it was a fluke! Still waiting for my next one 😑) The NHS over here is um somewhat stretched shall we say so my diagnosis was ‘yea so we’re saying you have PCOS, do you want to go back on the pill’... no ‘ok so um stay a healthy weight and come back and have a chat with us if you’re trying unsuccessfully for a baby for 12 months. Oh and if you want advice visit the NHS website’.
