Postpartum discomfort during and after sex

I officially have a 1 year old and was still having a hard time with sex. It felt uncomfortable during sex and always had a little blood and burning after sex (despite plenty of desire, foreplay, and lube). I didn't have any unusual discharge and assumed I had some form of vaginismus. I finally just saw my OB/GYN and he thought the same thing but suggested we test for infection just in case. He thought I could have some low grade infection that was causing the discomfort. Lo and behold I was positive for BOTH yeast and bacteria 😳! Once I was on treatment, I started having all sorts of crazy discharge.

All of that was to say, don't hesitate to see your doctor. I know it's really hard to prioritize yourself and easy to rationalize waiting but it's worth it to go! I could have gotten treatment months ago.
