When would you announce you pregnancy to your friends and co-workers (team and close work buddies)

We are team of women (5) - and all of us are friends at work and after!
3 of us are now pregnant - both of the other team members are one day apart from each other and told me when they were 10 weeks pregnant (now they are 15 weeks). Today I’m 10 weeks pregnant - do you think I should tell them? And in general when to tell friends? We are so excited but yet being very cautious. Help a girl out!

We are waiting until week 12 and the first ultrasound 😊 I think you can tell them whenever you like.

I work in radiology and I’m 6 weeks. I did IVF and they’ve always been involved and have supported me so much through this, so they know. Plus, they are all doing their best to make sure that I don’t have to be in the room when we’re actually taking the X-rays.

I am 5 weeks and 4 days and have announced. I am close to my co-workers and I believe in celebrating every pregnancy. You just have to do what you are comfortable with

I told close family. Will wait for a heartbeat scan before I tell the others. Its whatever you feel, if it feels right just do it!

Think strategically about the nature of your job, your managers and colleagues, and the risks of telling versus not telling.
Obviously, if you’re in a job that could present material hazards to you or the baby, tell promptly.
If not, consider how your boss and peers will react. Not socioemotionally (unless they are super strange) but professionally. With my first baby, I waited for a long time to tell because I didn’t want important assignments being given to other people. (Even is your boss or colleagues are generally nice people, this happens all the time and is quite tricky to document as actual discrimination.)  With my second child, I told somewhat earlier (about 12 weeks) because I needed leverage while negotiating a department change. (Long story, but it IS legally difficult to threaten firing to a pregnant woman with an exemplary record.)  
Not to sound all Machiavellian but it’s worth your time to think very strategically about the next few steps of your career and weigh the advantages/disadvantages of telling now or in a couple of months.

It’s personal preference I think. I first told my best friend right away. I’ve told a couple other friends and just told my brother and my husband’s family. Work not until after my 12 week appointment.

My manager and one of my coworkers already knows. I’m sure the others suspect as I’m not allowed to do certain things (take X-rays, assist in surgery’s and probably after tomorrow no lifting anything heavy even with help-hurt my back) but I will make it official after the 12 week scan.
