Kindness can go a long way..

My boyfriend and I were out a few weeks ago and we got pizza after I got done working. Well, I drove, because I went and picked him up from his parents’ house. He ran into the pizza place and got pizza. I saw this man struggling in the parking lot. He was disabled and was in a wheelchair. I knew he could do his job, but I decided to get out of my car and help him.

He didn’t realize I was helping him, until I pushed the carts inside the building at a publix and said, “I just wanted to help you. Have a blessed day.” I’m seventeen. I wasn’t looking for anything in return, except to see the man smile, which he did. I walked back to my car and waited on my boyfriend. The man rolled his wheelchair back out and I guess he was looking for me, but I saw the smile on his face and knew I made his day.

It takes two seconds to help somebody, especially when they’re down. It made my day to see how I could impact someone else. I just thought I’d share this, in order to help my generation realize that we are actually people. We can actually help others and not be so wrapped into what the world wants us to be. I’m so thankful that I am grounded in who I am and who I want to be. My boyfriend hugged me after that and said, “You are so beautiful.” It made me so unbelievably happy.
