Help calm my anxiety

Stephanie

I am 7 weeks 4 days pregnant, first time in 3 weeks having sex. 12 hrs went by and I feel a “gush” in my pants. Bright red blood not enough to soak a pad type but enough to freak out and go to ER. They did a sono and find a beating heartbeat (first sono since my original first one is scheduled for March 12) then Dr says are you expecting twins?! But baby B he could not find a beat, he said it maybe harder to see or could be losing that one. No cramps or anything out of normal (second healthy pregnancy for me 10 yrs apart).

Just wondering if anyone has a similar experience and both babies are healthy and well? Calling my OB for follow up, just wanted to ease my mind in the mean time.

Thanks in advance!!!

Update: bed rest until my follow up with my OB on Thursday. Another sono and talk with my Doctor.

I read a lot and I saw that some twins are not on the same gestational week and hoping that is the cause, maybe Baby B is a little “younger” than baby B. I said the entire time it was twins, and I want them both 😭😭 I just want them both to be healthy and happy. I’m sure everyone can relate to that feeling while pregnant, it’s just the most helpless feeling! As a mother, I’ve tried to calm this feeling because so many things we can’t control. I prayyyyy so hard right now for them to be ok.

I had a similar experience but I was almost 13 weeks so both babies were easier to see and hear. I am 19 weeks now and still bleeding out my subchorionic hematoma (what I was diagnosed with after that huge bleed). it's brown and dwindling and babies are doing fine. i know it's scary though...it doesn't feel like you can bleed that much and things still be ok. I hope your baby b was just being tricky to get a heartbeat on. wishing you the best.

After doing some reading all night long. I’m hoping baby B is just a little behind on gestation, I read that sometimes babies are a few weeks apart. Called OB waiting for a call back

It is common for twins to measure a couple of days apart, but if it gets up to a week or more in those early stages I think that can be a bad sign (that one isn’t developing properly). Between 6 & 7 weeks you should generally see a heartbeat. Did they tell you what the babies were measuring (both 7+4?)? The ER doesn’t tend to be too helpful with these things so hopefully when you see your doctor you’ll find out more. Hope all works out for you.

They were just helpful in the since that “oh there’s one heart beat the other you maybe losing, don’t see a heart beat.” I guess since they saw one it’s all good, i am in bed until Thursday and hope my dr can give more info or insight. I appreciate it
