Anyone else feel disappointed about have a boy at first?

My husband and I were leaning towards wanting a girl (my husband more so than me) he says he just feels like he’d be a good girl dad. But found out this weekend that it’s a boy. It’s our first so we were a little disappointed but I don’t want to feel this way! I feel like everyone is having girls on this app and it makes me jealous! I’ve never pictured myself as a boy mom but guess I’m gonna learn! Has anyone else felt this way? Makes me feel guilty 😞 I know in the end a healthy baby is all that matters 👶🏼 but can’t help feel this way!

This is how I felt 💙 I’m 30 weeks with a little boy, my first as well, and I’m not going to lie I was disappointed a little with the gender but that doesn’t mean I didn’t love him. I just think about all of the fun things you can do with a boy and try imagining that life. Someone said to me that it’s okay to mourn for the gender you wanted because you probably already had that life created in your head already, and you lost it. Now you just gotta create a different one💙

Totally normal! My husband and I both hoped for a girl first and literally everything pointed to it. Had bad morning sickness. Tired. Etc. My sister had just had a boy and had nothing like I did. My OB tried to make an educated guess on the gender at 15 and said girl but only 80% sure. Skip to 19 weeks and the 20% turned to 100% boy. It took about three days because we had already had names picked out but! We got over it and now so excited for this little boy ♥️😍 I'm actually happy it's a boy because my friends have had girl and they're high maintenance and I've been getting a lot of practice with my nephew.

I almost cried with our first baby’s gender reveal when it showed boy! I only have sisters so I really wanted a girl. my boy is a year and a half old now and I can’t imagine not having a boy! He’s so much fun! I love seeing him and my hubby rough house together. I’m pregnant with #2 now and it’s another boy! I’m super excited this time because I know they will be super close as they grow up.

I was determined this ba y was a girl and desperately hoped so. I already have a son and we are done after this one. I found out at my 20 week anatomy ultrasound that I'm having another boy. While I'm happy he's measuring perfect and everything looks spot in, I'm still kind of bummed that I won't have a daughter. My mom and I still go shopping together and do girly things. I wanted that. 
I think it's ok to be a little sad. 
The idea of 2 boys is growing on me and they will be the best of friends and play together.

I was likd this my second pregnancy I was a bit disappointed when I saw it was a boy. But I'm hoping this time my mothers instinct is correct and its a girl. I dont want to be disappointed.

I was nervous about having a boy when we found out that what we were having. But let me tell you! I absolutely LOVE being a boy mom!!! No you don’t get to dress them up in cute little dresses with bows but being a mommy of a little boy is the best thing in the world. I honestly couldn’t imagine having a girl now.

Don't worry you are not alone. I wanted a little girl (hubby wanted a boy so i was alone in this) Felt sad but happy because my baby was healthy. Now I have 8 weeks left and I can't wait to be a mommy to my beautiful baby boy! Wouldn't have it any other way!  💙💙

Gender disappointment is completely normal and very real. 
I experienced it myself with this pregnancy being as it’s my 2nd boy, I really wanted a girl & I am not having anymore kids so my chances of getting a daughter a done for. It took me about 2 months to get over it, the only thing that helped was starting to prepare for baby, picking a name, buying him things, referring to him as a him instead of “the baby/our baby” etc.
