Birth outcomes?

Ftm here, planning and so far eligible for a vaginal delivery home birth, but researching possible complications, risks, reasons and outcomes for hospital transfer and c section info(this was the best advice a lot of women I know said the research c section because having it unplanned and going in "blind" was frightening) . So wondering from you ladies
1)what was your "plan" or what were you expecting?
2)were you before /past your due date why and how(induced, spontaneous)
3)what actually happened?
4)what do you wish you could have known before?

1) FTM, plan was a water birth at a birth center, but chose one equipped to deal with emergencies (had its own operating room). Had no issues until week 39 of pregnancy when my blood pressure was just slightly elevated. It had been normal at all previous appointments. 
2) By 39w4d BP went up to 163/110 so decided to be induced after monitoring it for 2 days. Didn’t want it to negatively affect my baby or for me to start having seizures. Urine tests kept coming back fine but blood test showed pre-eclampsia with decreased kidney function. 
3) labored for 75.5 hours (no pain meds) and made it to 8cm. Baby started going into distress, which my doctor had warned was common with pitocin, so had to get an emergency c-section. Had a reaction to the epidural in the OR as it numbed my entire body and I lost the ability to breath, so thank god I didn’t ask for it sooner. They had to put me under general anesthesia so they could breathe for me. I woke up 3 hours later as I had a reaction to that too. Then in recovery a few hours later I had a stage 3 postpartum hemorrhage. They had their own blood bank which saved my life. I would have died if they tried to transfer me to the hospital, 10 minutes away. Having my doctor get the clots out of me with only ibuprofen as pain medication was pure hell. Contractions were a walk in the park compared to that. 
4) Birth plans are just that, plans. It doesn’t make you a failure if said plan doesn’t come to fruition and what is important is the health of baby (and you). It took me a couple of days to accept that. I never even imagined myself ending up with a c-section. I think it’s important to have a plan for the ideal birth, as well as backup plans if induction or c-section become necessary.

2 vaginal births w.epidural, no problems, no plan..just to have my girls lol. My oldest was 10 days early..youngest was 8 days early (she actually came the day before a scheduled induction lol) I only scheduled to induce because I just wanted her out I was in so much pain (typical 3rd trimester pregnancy pain). My oldest I started having irregular contractions at 11pm, turned into real labor around 6/7am, had her at 2:51pm. My youngest I woke up at 7am with regular contractions..went in & had her at 11:45am

I’ve had two vaginal births at the hospital with no complications or medication needed. I don’t have any complaints about either of my deliveries.

My plan was to do an all natural birth, zero medication. At the very last minute I got an epidural because I was passing out in between my 2 minute apart contractions. I was having all back labor and just needed the help. I had no actual health complications other than feeling defeated. I’m planning on epidural with my baby due in November ☺️ BUT my mom did have an at home birth and everything went well, my aunt had all 4 of her boys at home and everything went well. The key is just to have the right people (midwife) there Incase things go south and you do have to go to the hospital.

I had my first baby at home and I am planning on another home birth in October! I did have along birth but my midwife helped me through it all, 30 hour labor! She was amazing! I am trusting the Lord that everything will work out on this next one as well!

Inductions often (not always) end in c-sections. However if you just let the baby come on it’s own, you’re less likely to need intervention and will have a better shot of a home birth. 
Although there is always a chance you could need medical intervention, I’ve had multiple friends have successful home births.

With my first I was induced at 41 weeks and it didn't work. They brought me back at 42+3 for another induction. After about 18 hours at 4cm my water broke and was full of meconium. Baby's heart rate dropped shortly after so she was delivered via emergency c-section. I so badly wanted to experience childbirth but my body will not progress in labor. Keep in mind, my experience is not common and wasn't a sudden scare. With how far past my due date I was, I knew a cesarean was a possibility.

I had the option for a home birth but decided not to do that and I’m so thankful. I had placenta previa and my placenta was deeply intact which ended up causing me to hemorrhage. It was a very scary time. My son also ended up in NICU with fluid in his lungs. 
Not trying to scare you but do lots of research before you decide on something like a home birth

I had a hospital birth with my twins. I had them vaginally and all natural. I went into labor myself at 37 weeks and 3 days. My birth plan was a c section and early delivery but my body had other plans lol
