My first pregnancy resulted in a stillborn at 25 weeks. I was induced and gave birth to her. I’m currently pregnant with my second child. Do you think it’s worth taking a birthing class this time around? I didn’t take one before since she passed away. What would you do?

I also had a stillborn at 25 weeks... how long did it take you to get pregnant again? / did you do anything different ? I’ve been trying again for 2 months and I can’t on to our third month... but with my son who was stillborn it was first try

I didn’t take a birthing class. Just read books and then winged it the day of - just did whatever the nurses and doctors said. The birth went fine!  I read enough ahead of time to know what to advocate for and to not be too surprised about what went on. I had two early miscarriages, so I was paranoid and worried that anything and everything would go wrong during my third pregnancy (which I actually had risk factors throughout like short cervix and gestational diabetes....making me extra extra worried the whole time.....but everything was fine - no preterm labor and a healthy baby under 7lbs). I didn’t buy stuff for the baby or even announce I was pregnant until I was 5 months along because I was too scared to jinx everything. So group classes with other pregnant people was not even on my radar.

I would want a one on one class if I would have it- being around all the first timer happy moms would be really hard- I wouldn’t want to scare the crap out of all of them (my daughter died after preterm labor).

I didn't as I thought I wouldn't make full term and the classes were being offered at 36 weeks (made it to 37,then was induced)
For me after delivering my stillborn son it was sort of like muscle memory, however I didn't have a long labour it was only 1 hour 30 minutes. I'm sure if my labour was longer I would of wanted some knowledge which the birthing classes provide

I did.
It helped, because it's a lot different giving birth to a 19 weeks baby compared to a 39 week old baby
