Is he being catfished?

My uncle lives in the south and met someone on Facebook that commented something on a post he liked. They met about four years ago, and they FaceTime and talk on the phone for at least half the day. She lives in Hong Kong

She hasn’t come to visit him because apparently it’s too hard to leave if you don’t own property there, because they think you won’t come back. Anyone know if this is true?

He’s been sending her money to buy a house. At first it was just a little, but now he’s sent at least 15k in the last four years

Everyone says that she isn’t catfishing him because they are always talking, but for 15k, a lot of people might do that
